Welcome to Capitol Ambassadors where we are focused on the Christian mission and ministry of reconciliation. In 2 Corinthians 5:18-21, the Apostle Paul provides us the ministry we have as Ambassadors of Jesus Christ. It is the heart and soul of our responsibility.

"Now all these things are from God who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

In these four verses Paul provides for us some very encouraging words about the necessity of men and women who are alienated from God and their need to be united or reconciled to Him because of the alienation brought about by sin. Five times in four verses the call for reconciliation is given to us. It is God’s greatest gift given to us—His Son Jesus Christ.

At Capitol Ambassadors we are committed and commissioned to be God’s Ambassadors in the political arena with one over-arching message—How can sinful man be reconciled to The Holy God? That’s the message. We are the messengers with the singular message that can bring about reconciliation due to the seriousness of sin that has caused the separation between God and man.

It is men and women, who are in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), who have been given this ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). The message is this, if you are in Christ God will never charge your sin to you or to your account. Not only that, He will never throw your sin in your face. He chooses to never remember them again because, Christ Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross (1 Peter 2:24) and God’s wrath (righteous indignation) against sin was satisfied.

So as God’s messengers we are His Ambassadors (v.20) with a singular message, proclaiming the means of God’s reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:21). God made Christ who knew no sin to become sin on our behalf. Why? So that we might become the perfect righteousness that God requires in us through Christ. Thus, the imperative, we must be in Christ. The gospel, the good news, is the “word of reconciliation” entrusted to us.
